On 1 July 2026, Founder’s Day of Shaktii Girls Education Trust, Shakti Academy was launched — a second chance for girls to complete their schooling.

We have taken a small step toward Vimala Ma’am’s dream of hundred percent girl-child literacy in Navi Mumbai. The Academy begins with two girls preparing for Class 10 and one for Class 12 through the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).
As Project Head of the NIOS programme at Shakti Academy, I have worked hard to kick-start this journey - and it has now begun. I hope our first three candidates soon grow into thirty.

M.Sc. Home Science and B.Ed. An expert in Hindi, she also teaches Hindi to one of our Class 10 girls - a wonderful addition to the Shaktii team.

Our logo is a girl in a cape. But that is not really what it is about. The silhouette has no face. No features. She could be any girl. That is deliberate. This is not one story. It is every girl's story. The red cape is not decoration. It represents strength she already has. We are not giving her anything. We are just finally giving her the right environment to use it. And she is moving. Mid-stride, going forward. Not waiting for permission. Not looking back. That is what Shaktii Academy is built on. The belief that potential is never the problem. Access is.
