NIOS Programme at Shaktii

It's been a decade since I joined Shaktii but it doesn't feel like it . The main reason I think is that at Shaktii, everyday is an exciting day. Everyday there is something to learn for all of us. This year another part of Shaktii is evolving as Shaktii Academy. Here is the logo for it.

At Shaktii academy we intend to start the NIOS {National Institute of Open Schooling} program and help as many girls from underprivileged backgrounds as we can, to complete their schooling without any hassles. I am proud to be leading the project with Vimala Nandakumar Ma'am's guidance and we intend to make it a success.

Our logo is a girl in a cape. But that is not really what it is about. The silhouette has no face. No features. She could be any girl. That is deliberate. This is not one story. It is every girl's story. The red cape is not decoration. It represents strength she already has. We are not giving her anything. We are just finally giving her the right environment to use it. And she is moving. Mid-stride, going forward. Not waiting for permission. Not looking back. That is what Shaktii Academy is built on. The belief that potential is never the problem. Access is.
