– This was a memorable day for some Shaktii-ites and their mothers. I heard from Kranti Sety of Aditya Birla Group of Industries that Shaktii Girls were invited to attend the Aditya Vikram Birla’s Sangeeta Kala Kendra Puraskar 2025 function and passes were to be given to Shaktii girls to attend the function and transport would be organized. I could not say ‘No’.
– What followed my ‘Yes’ to her was a beginning of an incredible experience of attending the grand event at JIO Garden, BKC, Mumbai. Buses were sent to every nook and cranny of the city to bring people/children of a large number of NGOs. Nearly 4500 people assembled at the venue at 4.30 PM to watch the spectacular event – of Smt Parveen Sultana get her lifetime achievement award. A speech by Aditya Vikram Birla (AI generated) on encouraging performing arts and recognizing talent was absolutely inspiring.
– We had the fortune of listening to Smt Rajshri Birla and the other dignitaries. Our desire to see and hear Shreya Ghoshal sing our favorite numbers was richly rewarded. She was at her best yesterday. She sang with so much energy, melody and passion that the audience listened spell bound. The finale was a dance performance of none other than Bollywood star Rekha.
– Shaktii girls could not believe that they were the recipients of an exhilarating concert of this order. We returned not exhausted but fully energized by songs of Shreya Ghoshal. We are grateful to Kranti Sety for inviting Shaktii girls to attend the function. We thank the volunteers Ketan, Megha, Maneesh Kumar- the bus drive and his assistant for making the trip smooth and comfortable. Hats off to Aditya Birla group for thinking of NGOs and for making elaborate arrangements for the children – taking into consideration their comfort and safety. Snack boxes and water were served enroute to the venue and again during the return journey.
